The Portal Guides
Beginner walkthroughs and advanced systems for The Box of Trolls MMORPG on Roblox.
Welcome to the Guides Hub for The Portal, the deliberately slow-paced Roblox MMORPG from The Box of Trolls Studio (medidecil and hsywerke). Whether you just stepped through the portal for the first time or you are planning a second character after learning hard lessons about Job Change, these guides explain systems the game barely tutorials.
The Portal rewards patience. Progression spans race selection, class commitment, Combat Point budgeting, gathering loops, achievement stat bonuses, and long-form gear upgrades. Rushing without a plan leads to deleted moves, wasted rerolls, burned scrolls, and underpowered builds. Use this hub as a reading order, then dive into specialized pages that cross-link each other.

Core systems at a glance
Races split into three families with rare variants: Milk (Human / Corrupted Human), Meat (Cat / Wolf / Fox), Mushroom (Elf / High Elf). Classes map to stats: Warrior (STR), Defender (VIT), Enchanter (INT), Cleric (WIS). Job Change lets you swap classes but wipes learned moves—a common trap for newcomers.
Combat Points cap your effective power from equipment, skill investments, achievements, and codex completion. Promo codes grant items—not raw CP—though achievements from gathering and exploration stack CP permanently.

Slow progression is intentional
The Box of Trolls designed The Portal as an MMORPG with weighty decisions, not a weekend rush. Guides here emphasize informed choices over exploit chasing. We do not recommend unauthorized scripts; see the honest Scripts hub for account risk context.
Stay current
After each patch, skim Release v1 and revisit guides that touch changed numbers. Join a new server if code redemption fails, and cross-check fresh strings on the Codes Hub before spending mirrors or scrolls.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for The Portal players.
Which guide should I read first in The Portal?
Start with Getting Started, then How to choose a race before spending reroll mirrors from codes. Fishing and achievements guides matter once you redeem RELEASE tools.
Does The Portal have a fast leveling guide?
No ethical fast-max guide exists because progression is intentionally slow. Focus on Combat Points, achievements, and correct race-class pairings instead of exploit grinds.
Where do guides mention Job Change risks?
The dedicated Job Change guide explains move deletion. Getting Started warns you early—read both before swapping off Warrior or Cleric.
