Stats and Attributes Guide

Every class, race, and gear choice in The Portal eventually maps back to six core attributes: STR, VIT, INT, WIS, AGI, and DEX. The Box of Trolls designed a slow Roblox MMORPG where dumping points into the wrong column wastes weeks of grinding—or forces you to burn Stats Reset Scrolls from codes like 1KLIKES and 5KLIKES. This guide lists verified per-point bonuses, race starting baselines, class priorities, and how stats interact with Combat Points without repeating entire build pages.

The six attributes at a glance

StatRolePrimary classes
STRPhysical damageWarrior
VITDefense, HP, regenDefender
INTMagic damage, MPEnchanter
WISMagic defense, MP, support scalingCleric
AGIAttack speed, movementWarrior secondary, beast races
DEXCast speed, crit rate/damageWarrior secondary, beast races

Race passives add flat starting points on top of these curves. Family selection is covered on How to choose a race; this page focuses on what each point buys after creation.

Per-point bonuses (launch values)

Community testing and in-game tooltips at v1.0 report the following gains per single stat point invested. Numbers may shift in balance patches—recheck Release v1 after maintenance.

STR (Strength)

  • Physical damage increases by 3 per point

Warriors should treat STR as the non-negotiable primary. Secondary STR on Defender can help threat generation but never outprioritize VIT for tanking.

VIT (Vitality)

  • Defense increases by 2 per point
  • HP regeneration increases by 0.05 per point
  • Maximum HP increases by 10 per point

Defenders live and die by VIT. Corrupted Human Milk rolls start with elevated STR and VIT baselines—see race table below.

AGI (Agility)

  • Attack speed increases by 0.008 per point
  • Movement speed increases by 0.005 per point

Achievements such as Anatomy Studies grant permanent AGI bumps documented on Achievements and codex. Beast races (Cat, Wolf, Fox) begin with higher AGI baselines.

DEX (Dexterity)

  • Cast speed increases by 0.03 per point
  • Critical damage increases by 1 per point
  • Critical rate increases by 0.5 per point

Warriors often split secondary points between DEX and VIT after STR caps feel comfortable. Fishing achievements like Fish Landlord reward DEX over time.

INT (Intelligence)

  • MP regeneration increases by 0.01 per point
  • Magic damage increases by 2 per point
  • Maximum HP increases by 5 per point

Enchanters stack INT first. Mushroom family Elves and High Elves start with INT/WIS head starts—pair with Enchanter build.

WIS (Wisdom)

  • Magic defense increases by 1 per point
  • MP regeneration increases by 0.05 per point
  • Magic damage increases by 1 per point

Clerics prioritize WIS for healing throughput and survivability against caster mobs. High Elf rare Mushroom rolls maximize both INT and WIS starting totals.

Race starting baselines

These are starting stat lines before you allocate level-up points or achievement bonuses. Rare tutorial outcomes (~10%) listed where verified.

Stats vs Combat Points

Stat points modify your character sheet; Combat Points aggregate gear, skills, achievements, and codex. You can have high STR on paper but low CP if your weapon is outdated. Always upgrade equipment per Equipment and gear while allocating stats.

Promo codes grant items—not raw stat points. Stats Reset Scrolls refund allocated points only; they do not raise caps. Read Stats reset scrolls before using scrolls from 1KLIKES or 5KLIKES.

When to reset stats

Reset when you misallocated early levels before understanding class primaries—for example INT on a Warrior because a gray staff looked cool.

Do not reset when the real problem is wrong race family; use mirrors instead. Do not reset to fix Job Change mistakes—Job Change deletes moves, not stat refunds.

Achievement stat stacking

Several achievements permanently increase AGI, DEX, or other stats while also adding CP. Plan achievement routes alongside stat builds so you do not over-invest DEX on an Enchanter who will receive DEX from fishing grinds. Details: Achievements and codex.

Party stat synergies

In group content, Defender VIT enables Warrior STR burst windows. Cleric WIS keeps the party alive while Enchanter INT delivers AoE. Party composition explains role seats—stats make those roles possible.

Patch awareness

Balance notes may rebalance per-point coefficients or racial baselines. After each update on Updates hub, re-read this page and your class build before spending scrolls or mirrors.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for The Portal players.

Which stat should Warriors prioritize?

Strength first for physical damage, then Dexterity for crit and cast-speed synergy on melee kits. Vitality and Agility are useful secondaries.

Do race stats stack with allocated points?

Yes. Race baselines add to your sheet before you spend level-up points and achievement bonuses.

Can codes increase my STR or INT directly?

No. Active codes grant mirrors, scrolls, tools, and masks—not raw stat points.

Should Defenders ever invest in INT?

Rarely at launch. Vitality and Strength dominate Defender scaling; INT does not improve tank fundamentals.
